And just read this story….oh my!! I’m no crier, but this had me in tears. What a beautiful, priceless moment to capture photos of this sweet family together for just a little longer.
The picture of the brother and sisters hands together puts a lump in my throat, it’s just beautiful!

Somehow I overlooked the posts around this time. I am utterly teary and heartbroken! I looked at the photos more intimately and saw the little angel in Rex as he looked at his sister with love, especially in his white suit! I truly believe that little Anna has been appointed a special guardian angel for the rest of her days. And to mom and dad, I pray for you from the bottom of my heart. I hope you find the strength and peace to keep Rex alive…through stories, videos and photos (thanks to peekaboo). May God bless you now and forever.

As a mother to my own 3 year old (who is only 2 months younger than Rex), I cannot even imagine the heartache. I literally was bawling and sobbing through these pictures as well as following their story. My heart goes out to his family. This makes me want to squeeze my own son a little tighter tonight. I’m so glad they were able to get some beautiful pictures with their family before his sweet spirit was welcomed back to heaven.

I am so sorry for your loss which is way to farmiliar to me. Our first grandson was a premie with many health issues. He died at the age of 6 when his baby brother was only 3 weeks old. Just last month a baby girl I photograph passed away from open heart surgery. Totally unexpected. She just wasn’t strong enough. 8 months old. My heart breaks for this family. You did an amazing job capturing what little time he had with his baby sister. Beautiful!

Oh Kate, I am sitting here wondering what to say. I am so sad for them. I can’t imagine watching a healthy child just wither away. And I am so sorry for you. I know you love them and are probably beside yourself. As for the pictures, they are priceless. I can’t get over the one that Anna is looking at Rex. I am not sure if his eyes are closed or if he is looking at her, but either way it is amazingly perfect. Both so close to the other side. You gave them little pieces of their heart in perfect pictures for the last time and you did such a beautiful job.

When I look at your site, I always scroll to the bottom and work my way up from the last post I read…so this post really caught me off guard this morning. My heart is breaking for this family. What a very special and brave little boy. With three children of my own, I just can’t even imagine what this family is going through. I pray they are brought much strength through their journey of finding peace again. What a priceless gift of photos and memories you were able to give them Kate.

Heart is broken for this family. Can’t get them off my mind. I just can’t imagine how difficult this journey will be for them with their new life without their sweet Rex. Prayed so much for them this week and hope they are blessed with wonderful friends who overfill their lives with love right now.

What a story of great sadness but also tremendous inspiration. Most any of our issues seem pitifully tiny in comparison to what has gone on with this child and family.
How can a little boy fight such a fight so young, or understand that pain and suffering? And for the parents to watch their child go through it and not be able to take it away.
You are all heros, plain and simple. To have one child leave you as another miracle of life enters your life….two extremes at the same time. The best and worst for any parent.

Oh Katie, what a wonderful treasure you created for this family. I have been watching Rex’s website for quite some time. Our hearts ache for Rex’s parents, grandparents and extended family, but he is now surrounded by glory and perfect beings.
