* no longer doing family pictures on location starting 2011. We will still be doing child sessions on location, but space is limited so book early. Were cutting back our sessions to spend more time as a family in the evenings. Hope everyone understands:)
| Where do you get that lace headband? The gold, tan and cream one! Love it and cant find it on etsy! ( Feb 6th, 2011 6:27 am)I am wondering if you can share with me where you get your backdrops…I especially like the brown one (with texture) in these pictures…thank you so much!! Where can I purchase a hat like that? ( Dec 1st, 2010 5:33 pm)Yes I use a boppy:) And yes sometimes I cheat too, just depends on the baby. ( Nov 27th, 2010 7:55 am)Katie! I loved the video you posted with the baby resting on her hands. Could you tell me how your set up is? Do you use a boppy under her? And how do you position her legs and feet. I almost pulled if off the other day but we had to cheat and have mom hold his arms. Thank you so much for these! I cannot wait to enlarge them and hang them up on my walls, I sooo Love them!! ( Nov 23rd, 2010 10:02 pm)Love your pictures. Do you know where the little hat came from? ( Nov 23rd, 2010 5:09 am)Always beautiful… love your style. I have a question, which I’m sure has been asked, your little fabric floral stools… is it ok to ask, where might one find one of those? I have to say- nice to read of folks making time for famiy; the children grow up too fast and family time is super important! Enjoy!!! ( Nov 23rd, 2010 12:22 am)Good for you guys, sad for me:( ( Nov 22nd, 2010 12:08 pm) |

so sad
There are no words that can describe what this family has gone through this past year. Poor little Rex was diagnosed with a brain tumor this last year. Around the same time his mom found out she was pregnant with little Anna. Their biggest hope is that he would make it to see her. I feel so blessed to be able have created these memories for this family. I have grown to love them.
Rex passed away today. Here is a link to his blog if you would like to donate to his family. http://www.toeternityandbeyond.com/
We took these pictures about a week ago. The Dr. told them that Rex only had 24-48 hrs to live and that was a couple weeks before his little sister arrived. I’m so glad he held on long enough to meet her. He loved her so much! He was so weak in these pictures, he couldn’t sit up on his own and was really sleepy, so we didn’t get a ton of shots, but he was such a great little trooper.
I will post more of little Anna later, but here is one.
| Tears welling up over this post… what a precious gift you gave to this family, as they will treasure the beautiful photos of their sweet little son their entire lives. Blessings to you. ( Apr 26th, 2011 3:58 am)I stumbled across your work on youtube, actually. (On how to pose a baby with their chin in their hands….which was fantastic, btw) And just read this story….oh my!! I’m no crier, but this had me in tears. What a beautiful, priceless moment to capture photos of this sweet family together for just a little longer. Somehow I overlooked the posts around this time. I am utterly teary and heartbroken! I looked at the photos more intimately and saw the little angel in Rex as he looked at his sister with love, especially in his white suit! I truly believe that little Anna has been appointed a special guardian angel for the rest of her days. And to mom and dad, I pray for you from the bottom of my heart. I hope you find the strength and peace to keep Rex alive…through stories, videos and photos (thanks to peekaboo). May God bless you now and forever. ( Dec 30th, 2010 3:49 am)I had to comment!! I can’t even imagine what that family is going through….I’m sure they will hold on to these pictures for the rest of their lives!! Your work is amazing…I found you through Snazzie Drawers. ( Dec 29th, 2010 9:35 pm)Lovely pictures. I am glad you were able to help them remember Rex through these awesome pictures. I’m sure his baby sister will forever cherish these when she gets older. My heart goes out to the beautiful family. ( Dec 2nd, 2010 9:48 pm)Steph is one of my dear friends. These pictures will be a big part of their family forever! Thanks for taking them! ( Nov 29th, 2010 5:01 am)As a mother to my own 3 year old (who is only 2 months younger than Rex), I cannot even imagine the heartache. I literally was bawling and sobbing through these pictures as well as following their story. My heart goes out to his family. This makes me want to squeeze my own son a little tighter tonight. I’m so glad they were able to get some beautiful pictures with their family before his sweet spirit was welcomed back to heaven. ( Nov 25th, 2010 6:55 am)I am too bawling my eyes out!!! Beautiful family! i love them in white. that got me the most. ( Nov 24th, 2010 6:49 pm)I am bauling my eyes out too. I have to remember that the things I am dealing with in life is nothing in comparison to losing a dear child. I pray that this family will feel peace and love at this very difficult time. What a great job you did capturing such special moments for them. ( Nov 24th, 2010 4:16 am)I’m deeply sorry about your loss. I’m glad you were able to capture these beautiful moments on camera and know they have now become precious memories. Praying for you. I love all the photos but especially the one where they are all together and they are watching little Anna sleeping. To me, this photo is saying that little Anna can now take her nap because she was just in her big brother’s arms who made it all okay and for her not to worry. Finn, Nora & family
So Ian emailed me a few months ago saying he wanted to surprise his wife for her birthday, by flying their family out from Florida for some family pictures! Is that not the cutest surprise EVER? He gave her a map to Utah to open on her birthday and that is how he told her. Talk about a little pressure. And of course the day they came in, was sooooooooo freaking cold and dark outside we didn’t get to shoot long outside. Luckily little Nora was so awesome and smiled for the whole session! These guys were so much fun to shoot and glad their little kiddo’s got to see snow for the first time:) Enjoy!
| Beautiful family, beautiful work! ( Nov 23rd, 2010 2:55 am)Wow – look at the eyes on those beautiful babies! ( Nov 22nd, 2010 5:55 pm)These shots are fantastic. The parents sure have great fashion sense for their kids. Their kids must be amazingly well-behaved, for the son to wear a blazer without complaint and for the lil one to wear a headband and not try to take it off. Great family to work with, I bet! Gorgeous work as always…love them all!!! Where did you find the backdrop used for the family photo? Denny? Which one? I have been having such a hard time finding a neutral backdrop in browns that I “love” and I love this one but can’t seem to find it. Help! ( Nov 18th, 2010 2:21 pm)WOW, the pictures couldn’t be any more Beautiful!! You’re right Amanda, the one of Finn & Nora together is absolutely precious! SO BEAUTIFUL!! Each and every shot is just amazing. Such beautiful kids! Wow! ( Nov 17th, 2010 1:53 am)Well, I guess I get credit for planning the trip but Katie and Dan get all the credit for making it a success. Great job you two! It was truly worth it!!! ( Nov 16th, 2010 9:58 pm)Why I am getting all emotional looking at these pictures!! I LOVE these!! What a GREAT husband Ian is!! Amanda and Ian are what make Banner Boutique so fun!! Thanks for doing such an AMAZING job on their pictures!! You guys ROCK!!! ( Nov 16th, 2010 8:54 pm)Thank you so much, Katie and Dan. I just love these and I can’t say how grateful we are. That picture of my two sweet babies together is priceless! It was an amazing experience and you two are phenomenal. Nora was a terror on the flights home, but it was all worth it. I’d do it again in a heartbeat! ( Nov 16th, 2010 3:31 pm)OK… I have to admit that when the kids told us they were going to Utah for a photo shoot, I couldn’t help but wonder (and hold my tongue), “Utah? What’s wrong with the photographers we have in Florida? Why go all the way to Utah for…photos???” BUT, after seeing these, I can understand what Amanda was talking about. They are amazing, as are all the ones below them. They had a great time on their little “photo vacation”. Finn got to see snow for the 1st time. Ian was sweet to plan all this out. What a great son-in-law! What a sweet family! What a proud Nani. ( Nov 16th, 2010 2:25 pm)How sweet is that guy?! What a gorgeous family! ( Nov 16th, 2010 12:46 pm)What a guy to do this for his wife…and family! So many shots are great, but the one with Mom and daughter second row from bottom is beautiful and touching! Almost brought tears to my eyes….something so innocent and pure about it. Hope you enjoyed your trip, and amazing photos as usual. I am one of the many who look forward to each new posting and it’s usually one of the highlights of my day when I see something new! What a gift ( Nov 16th, 2010 9:15 am) |
